“He was armed but never pulls his weapon,”

That's what DC Police had to say about their detective, Mike Baylor waving a gun around during a snowball fight. And worse yet, the Washington Post was more than happy to parrot this absurd claim, while simultaneously linking to the YouTube video of Baylor pulling his weapon.

WaPo did eventually update, but the video was there before the story was posted, and the story even linked to the video, but the authors felt uncompelled to point that out, until the Washington City Paper posted a photo of Baylor brandishing the firearm.
